Ten Realistic Loan Signings Sunderland Could Make This Summer

The Black Cats might have won a trophy this season, but it doesn’t feel like success.

In going out of the play-offs to Lincoln City, they found themselves consigned to the third tier for another long season. The roster of teams they have to beat doesn’t get any easier either, with Sheffield Wednesday and Bolton becoming the latest former Premier League sides to drag themselves to the Stadium of Light in what is essentially Division Three next season.

Recently, the Chronicle Live listed players that Sunderland could turn to this summer, but to us, it doesn’t look realistic. They named players who have spent good spells in this division already, almost all of whom could end up moving to the Championship at the very least. It means Sunderland fans are no clearer as to exactly who they could, or could not sign.

That’s where we come in. We’ve trawled players from other clubs and come up with a list of ten players we think Sunderland might be in with a chance of capturing on loan next season.
