First Prediction For AFC Wimbledon vs Barrow AFC – Matty Stevens To Score – 11/5
Stevens was League Two’s leading goalscorer for much of the season following the injury to Bradford City‘s Andy Cook, but a barren spell has seen him overtaken in recent weeks. The 27-year-old is on a seven-game streak without finding the net, last doing so against Salford City over a month ago. The reverse fixture was arguably one of his top performances this term, scoring a brace within the space of a minute to end any hopes of The Bluebirds holding onto a point at Holker Street. He had a couple of good chances against Carlisle United in his last match but was denied by Gabe Breeze. If he is provided with opportunities again, he should fancy his chances against Paul Farman, who did not have the best of days against Morecambe in his previous fixture.
Second Prediction For AFC Wimbledon vs Barrow AFC – Both Sides To Score – 5/4
As outlined, Wimbledon have the everpresent danger of Stevens, but they have a very strong supporting cast. Eight of the 10 outfield starters in their win over Carlisle have scored this season, with Josh Neufville and Alistair Smith both on four for this campaign. Barrow may not have the profile of goalscoring their hosts will have, but they are strong in attacking areas. They’ve scored twice in their last three games, with that figure extending to five matches in their last eight. Andy Whing’s side did well to fight back against Morecambe in their last game but only found the net after The Shrimps went down to 10 men and had 26 attempts at goal. They should have enough to find the net against a Dons side that have only kept one clean sheet in six games.
Third Prediction For AFC Wimbledon vs Barrow AFC – AFC Wimbledon To Win – 9/10
With Doncaster Rovers‘ game against Salford City postponed, this is a prime opportunity for Wimbledon to put the pressure on Grant McCann’s side and perhaps put themselves back into title conversations as Bradford and Walsall falter in their results. League Two’s best defence by some margin, they should be able to largely shut down Barrow but this game depends on if their attack can excel at home. They have only lost four times at Plough Lane and this game should be fairly plain sailing for them to get three important points on the board as the end of the season edges closer.

Full Preview Of The Game: Last Results And Head-To-Head
AFC Wimbledon, like all of the other promotion-chasing teams, can’t seem to find form as of late. Whilst certainly they got back on the right track with a crucial result away at Carlisle United, they have lost in three of their last five games. Defeats to Morecambe, Bromley and Cheltenham Town had pushed The Dons down into the playoff position but the win at Brunton Park, combined with Doncaster’s draw away at Crewe Alexandra, saw them rejoin Bradford City and Walsall in the automatic spots on goal difference. A win at home on Saturday will extend their advantage to fourth to at least two points, and should Colchester United claim a result at Bradford, it would push Johnnie Jackson’s side into second place.
Barrow meanwhile are seemingly comfortably safe from relegation but too far away to make a proper challenge for a top-seven place. Andy Whing has got his team on a three-game unbeaten run thanks to wins over Notts County and Accrington Stanley, topped off by their most recent game, a 2-2 draw with Morecambe. The Shrimps seized the lead largely against the run of play, and doubled their advantage even after Max Taylor was sent off the pitch. The Bluebirds fought back for a respectable point, but with 26 shots and 11 of those on target, they may have felt they could have got more. A win at Plough Lane could take them as high as 15th should both Newport County and Swindon Town lose.
In League Two, these two sides have been inseparable in terms of results against one another, with two wins a piece and a draw. Wimbledon are three games unbeaten against The Bluebirds, with the reverse fixture ending in a 3-1 win thanks to a quickfire double from Matty Stevens deep into the second half putting the game out of reach. The first Football League game between these sides ended in victory for what was Pete Wild’s Barrow at Plough Lane.
