Our Three Predictions For Carlisle United v Bromley

  • Prediction 1 – Bromley To Win – 7/4
  • Prediction 2 – Both Teams To Score – Yes – 18/25
  • Prediction 3 – Match To Be A Draw – 53/25

First Prediction For Carlisle United v Bromley – Bromley To Win – 7/4

Bromley have had a successful debut season in the EFL. whatever happens from here. They are still in the hunt for a playoff place, and even though they carry some inconsistent form, they will take heart that pretty much everyone else is too. Their away form is good, in fact the seventh best in the division, and will want to improve on their seven wins from 18 road trips in this game. They did stumble in their last away game, a 2-1 reverse at Tranmere Rover, another team battling the drop, so they will be wary of a Carlisle United side that has shown some recent good form, but the home side has only won twice on their home turf all season. This is a big game for both, but Bromley, with their unexpected playoff chase may just have too much in the tank for their hosts.

Second Prediction For Carlisle United v Bromley – Both Teams To Score – Yes – 18/25

Don’t expect a complete goal fest in this game as both teams will be cautious of not throwing the game away, such is the importance of gaining valuable points. However, the fact that both are desperate for points means they cannot afford to be goal shy from here in. Carlisle are bottom for a reason. They do have trouble scoring, and also concede far too many. They have become tougher to break down in recent games, and have only let in four in the last three games, and before that didn’t concede in three. They couldn’t break down their opponents though, but now they will have to step up against a Bromley side that does concede on the road. United have let in 22 goals in 18 away trips, and it will be easy to see Carlisle grabbing at least one here, while also conceding too.

Third Prediction For Carlisle United v Bromley – Match To Be A Draw – 53/25

Bromley have a huge 13 draws in this campaign, proving as much as they are a tough team to breakdown, they also keep the opposition close as they rarely blow a team away. Their last result was a very credible 2-2 at home to league leaders Walsall, showing they can match up well against anyone in League Two. Carlisle have 9 draws to their name overall with six of those at home, and were on a three game home draw streak, before losing to AFC Wimbledon in their last home outing. Both teams could play too cautious as to not loose ground on those around them in their respective causes, which might not make a great watch for the fans, but a point still may prove vital come the seasons end.

Full Preview Of The Game: Last Results And Head To Head

It is hard to say just how much a difference Mark Hughes has made since his arrival at Carlisle United, but under him they have certainly been a bit stronger defensively. They are still bottom of the pile though and will need some very positive results quickly if they are to survive the drop in the National League. Terell Thomas will have to remain a kingpin in defence, as he has shown his experience will be key in the run in. Sam Lavelle is another at the back that has been crucial and he has also claimed four goals and another couple will be very handy for Hughes in the run in as the strikers try and find the net more regularly. To rely on 20 yar old Joe Bevan may be a stetch but no other player has topped Lavelle’s four goals in the whole of the campaign, and if they are to breach Bromley,, and beyond, they will have to find goals from all around the pitch.

Andy Woodman will see this as a good solid season, but being in the playoff chase if they were to miss out now, he may also view its as an opportunity missed. To gain promotion straight away may be too quick for a team that is still regarded as small in terms of stature. Players such as leading scorer Michael Cheek will not see that as a problem though and his 17 goals and six assists is the main reason why the Kent side is challenging at this stage. Attacking midfielder Ben Thompson has been a constant in the side and also knocked in five goals, to prove they are not reliant on Cheek. At the back Byron Webster has been ever present, and is bringing the best out of youngster Adam Mayor, some 17 years his junior. To claim a playoff spot Bromley will have to play pretty much perfect from here, and rely on other to slip up, but they have the hand of being an underdog, and that in itself is a strength.
