Luton Town have lodged an offer for Charlie Kelman as other sides circle for the American’s signature.
Following his highly successful season at Leyton Orient which saw the club fall short in the playoffs, Kelman returned to parent club Queens Park Rangers but questions have been emerging surrounding his future. With 26 appearances to his name for the Loftus Road side, the 23-year-old is yet to score but could have a big role to play in Julien Stephan’s squad heading into next season.

Two sides have already emerged in showing interest for Kelman, with West Bromwich Albion’s interest being long documented over the past month, but Ryan Mason’s side are yet to make a formal approach. An international option emerged earlier this week when MLS side Charlotte FC entered the running.
Managed by former Norwich City and Walsall boss Dean Smith, the Carolina club are in need of a new striker following the sale of Patrick Agyemang to Derby County this window. The Rams paid £5.8 million for the forward, who was a starring player in their CONCACAF Gold Cup campaign that ended in defeat to Mexico in the final.
According to West London Sport, Luton have now emerged as another destination for Kelman, with Matt Bloomfield’s side looking for a partner to Nakhi Wells after he was signed from Bristol City. The R’s have already been weighing up alternative striker options, with Schalke’s Pape Meissa Ba being named as a potential target following talks between the two clubs.

Writers’ View
Charlie Kelman’s future still remains up in the air and the addition of Luton Town to that list of possible destinations does not help in confirming where his future lies. The sensible option is to stay with QPR as they will offer him Championship football and a leading role in a side that has been calling out for a clinical number nine for the past few seasons. Pairing two of League One’s best players together in the same team with Kelman and Kwame Poku is a very enticing prospect, but doubt still remains whether the American will stay. For Luton, he would be the perfect signing to replace Carlton Morris, and with Wells as his striking partner, Town have to be tipped as promotion favourites alongside Huddersfield Town.
