Matt Bloomfield has admitted that Luton Town “are still trying” to sign more players in the final days of the transfer window.
The Hatters have already made seven signings this window and added their latest player in Exeter City‘s Millenic Alli yesterday. The Irishman is joined by Wigan Athletic‘s Thelo Aasgaard, Isiah Jones, Josh Bowler, Kai Naismith and Christ Makosso.
More Incomings Expected
Speaking to the Luton News, Bloomfield revealed that the club are still in the market for new signings, but a seventh incoming is not 100% guaranteed. He said:
“There might be something going on, but at the same time if it doesn’t happen, I don’t want to raise everyone’s hopes and it doesn’t happen.
“We’re still trying, the club’s working, but we’ve also got good numbers, so we’ve got to be careful not to oversubscribe because we want a happy building, we want a harmonious building and if you have too many players, that can’t be right. So it’s about getting the right balance which I think is absolutely crucial for us. I think there is a good chance that we may, but also we may not, I think it’s important for the last few days, anything can happen.
One name that has been mooted is Peterborough United’s Ricky-Jade Jones, with another attacker being eyed by the Kenilworth Road side being a Wycombe Wanderers reunion in Richard Kone, with a £7 million bid being rejected according to Sky Sports News.

Writer’s View
Luton Town seem destined to sign another striker so more incomings are likely this window. Whether Bloomfield gets his way is another question, with Wycombe turning down club record figures for Richard Kone and Ricky-Jade Jones likely being the biggest factor in Peterborough’s battle with relegation and therefore a must-need player for Darren Ferguson. However, of the two, the latter is the likelier move as United could opt to cash in on Jones with his contract expiring at the end of the season.
