West Bromwich Albion are looking to end Uros Racic’s loan at the club according to a report from Gianluca Di Marzio.
The Baggies signed the Serbian over the summer from Serie B side Sassuolo under former manager Carlos Corberan, but it has not been a fruitful spell for the midfielder, with only nine starts in the Championship.
Mowbray Seeks Termination
According to Di Marzio’s report, both Albion and Sassuolo are working together to find a solution to Racic’s loan move, with the Italian club looking for an alternative destination for the 26-year-old. He has played 22 times in total for The Baggies, providing two assists.
Mowbray’s side have made just one signing in the January window, bringing in Isaac Price from Standard Liege in Belgium for an undisclosed fee. The Northern Irishman made his debut in their last game against Portsmouth, playing 29 minutes at The Hawthorns.
The former Blackburn Rovers manager, who made a sensational return back to the West Midlands this month, has plenty of choices in midfield on top of the new arrival in Price, with Jayson Molumby and Alex Mowatt and has begun to use John Swift in a deeper role.

Writer’s View
Simply put, Uros Racic’s move to England has not worked well. He has certainly been capable of playing at a Championship level but has not been a standout for West Brom and in their hunt for a play-off place has not been a reliable option this season. Signing Isaac Price gives a lot of versatility for Tony Mowbray and limits Racic’s involvement further so a loan termination is the best choice for all involved. The decision frees up an international player spot in the Albion squad, meaning there could be some moves made abroad should The Baggies look there in the final days of the transfer window.
