Are These The Best 5 Sheffield Wednesday Players of All Time?

4 – John Sheridan

235 appearances, 32 goals

John Sheridan went the other way to Sterland – he played for Leeds, and had an ill-fated move (to Nottingham Forest) before turning up at Hillsborough for Β£500,000. He will always be known for his winning goal in the 1991 League Cup final, but his contribution ran much deeper than that. He helped Wednesday reach two cup finals in 1992-93, but struggled with injuries later in his career, eventually leaving for Bolton in 1996 with 235 outings to his name.
