Lincoln City, Doncaster and Swindon striker hunt – eight free agents they could still sign

Chris Martin

Not pretty' - how Derby County striker Chris Martin has battled ...

31-year-old Martin was recently released by Derby County and would be a solid signing for anyone in League One. The Beccles-born hitman has seven seasons with the Rams, bagging 76 times in 225 appearances. His best season came in 2013/14 when he smashed 25 goals in just 51 matches.

He scored 12 times for the Rams last season after forcing his way back into the side, coming after a 2018/19 loan spell with Hull, where he scored two in 31. He also appeared on loan for Fulham and Reading in recent seasons, but is not looking for a new club.

He might feel that he still has something to offer the Championship though, given his renaissance last time out.
