Gabriel Zakuani

The former Gillingham club captain was released from his contract by the Kent outfit in September to enable him to find a new club after seventy-one appearances across all competitions.
Zakuani’s successful stay at Priestfield ended in agony in February when he suffered a severe knee injury, but he’s since declared himself fit and is desperate to play again judging by recent posts on his Twitter account.
If he is fit, the former Peterborough, Northampton and Leyton Orient defender could be a great piece of business. He was playing League One last season, and at thirty-three, there could well be a couple of good years to be had out the experienced campaigner who would bring excellent leadership qualities to the Robins dressing room.
