Queens Park Rangers are keen to add more firepower to their attacking department and have been keeping tabs on a player on his way out of the Premier League, according to the latest reports.
With pre-season now finished, Marti Cifuentes is preparing for another campaign in England’s second tier which kicks off this weekend at Loftus Road when QPR take on West Bromwich Albion, who have seen quite an overhaul of their first-team squad.
The West London outfit will be keen to avoid a repeat of last season’s relegation dogfight which saw them survive during the final weeks, having ended the campaign with three straight victories, including an emphatic 4-0 win over Leeds United.
However, Cifuentes’ side have also lost a number of key players already in this transfer window. Isaac Hayden returned to Newcastle United from his short-term loan spell after some impressive displays in the middle of the park, while Chris Willock has departed for pastures new, joining fellow Championship club Cardiff City in recent weeks. Additionally, Sinclair Armstrong was sold to competitors Bristol City for a reported £2.5 million and Albert Adomah left as a free agent and has subsequently signed for League Two’s Walsall.
As a result, Queens Park Rangers are in the market for some new talent due to the volume of forwards that have left the club. So far, Zan Celar is the only first-team attacking signing made by the London club in the transfer window following his arrival from Lugano last month.
Now, HITC are reporting that QPR are weighing up a move for Nottingham Forest winger Josh Bowler who looks to be on his way out of the City Ground this summer, having yet to make an appearance in the English top-flight for the Tricky Trees. Furthermore, the outlet are claiming that Rangers face competition from Sheffield United for the 25-year-old.
HITC also revealed two weeks ago that a loan deal is likelier than a permanent exit for Bowler right now, although he has merely one year remaining on his current deal with Forest which perhaps may force a sale.

Bowler has experience in the Championship already from his time with Blackpool. During his two seasons with the Seasiders, the attacker scored 12 goals and recorded five assists and was one of the Lancashire side’s most exciting players despite being relegated to League One.
This could be a very good signing for Queens Park Rangers, particularly if he joins on a season-long loan as no transfer fee would be required. If Bowler hits the ground running at Loftus Road, QPR could always sign him on a free next summer.
