Queens Park Rangers Will Sell Star Man For “Right Price”

Queens Park Rangers are open to selling star defender Jake Clarke-Salter this summer as they look to further strengthen their attacking department, according to the latest reports.

Only relegated Rotherham United found the net fewer times than QPR last season in the Championship despite the club pulling off a magical survival, having been six points below the dotted line when Marti Cifuentes replaced Gareth Ainsworth back in October.

Scotland international Lyndon Dykes and attacking midfielder Ilias Chair were the top goalscorers at Loftus Road in the previous campaign, but both men scored merely seven goals apiece. As a result, Cifuentes is keen to bolster his forward line further before the new season commences in less than two weeks.

The West London outfit recently acquired the services of Slovenia international Zan Celar for an undisclosed fee despite interest from fellow Championship side Hull City. However, apart from 18-year-old Daniel Bennie, QPR haven’t made any more attacking signings.

Journalist Darren Witcoop has revealed that Queens Park Rangers are looking to bolster their forward line this summer and are open to selling central defender Clarke-Satler for the “right price” in order to recoup some funds to do more transfer business. Furthermore, Witcoop has stated that Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers see the 26-year-old as a potential replacement for Max Kilman, who recently completed his switch to West Ham United for £40 million.

John Percy from The Telegraph reported earlier in the summer that QPR are looking for a fee of between £5-7 million for the left-footed defender which will provide a much-needed cash windfall for Cifuentes’ transfer kitty in his attempts to sign more goalscoring talent.

Losing Clarke-Salter would be a huge blow for Queens Park Rangers following his immense displays at the club last season. However, Cifuentes has already signed former Wigan Athletic loanee Liam Morrison who could succeed him at the back alongside the experienced Steve Cook.

Nevertheless, if the club earn £5-7 million, it could really help them for the rest of the transfer window to make the entire squad better, particularly to replace Chris Willock who left the club recently as a free agent following the expiration of his contract and subsequently moved to Cardiff City.
