Keith Curle (Hartlepool United)
Moving down into League Two for the next manager on our list and first, we take a look at Hartlepool United’s manager Keith Curle.
Hartlepool are currently 22nd in the fourth tier and staring at an exit from the English Football League, they are one point ahead of Crawley Town who have four games in hand over them and three points away from the Gillingham team sitting above them who also have three games in hand.
The side has only managed six wins so far this season, only managing one win in their last five, they have the worst goal difference in the division, as they have conceded 59 goals in the 33 games played this season so far.
It was a season many predicted to be difficult from the opening day as that fixture saw them losing 4-0 at Walsall. And their woes just continued from there as the results continued to pile on the misery for the club, it took them 12 league games to record a win, finally recording a win on the 12th try as they finally beat Doncaster at the beginning of October.
One of the worst results suffered this season will go down as the EFL Trophy group stage loss to Everton under 21’s as they put six past the club, and it would just be salt in the wounds should the club lose EFL football.
With the games in hand the teams around them have, Hartlepool’s league status seems to be set in stone with multiple opportunities to make up points that only require one positive result to make up. And it is quite easy to imagine that should they lose their league status, then Keith Curle’s job would go hand in hand with it.
