“Sacked In The Morning” Are These The Next League One/Two Managers To Get The Boot?

It has been an exciting season so far and there have been ups and downs for many teams and managers as we move past the halfway point of the campaign.

In total, we have seen 31 changes in the manager across League One and League Two this season, this statistic includes the recent departures of Gareth Ainsworth and Matt Bloomfield who left Wycombe Wanderers and Colchester United. This also includes the caretaker managers who temporarily took charge of their club while they searched for a replacement. There is also one

As is the case with those two managers, it is not always being sacked that gets you out of a job, these managers were given what you could call promotions as Ainsworth left for Championship side QPR after a decade in charge at Wycombe Wanderers and Bloomfield stepped up to replace him in League One.

Crawley Town is the most featured in the management change list, having seen four managers this season, including one caretaker. Their current manager was a shock appointment as Scott Lindsay departed promotion-chasing Swindon Town to aid Crawley Town in the relegation fight.

And in League One, there was a shake-up on the South Coast as Danny Cowley was sacked by Portsmouth, following a run of the club only managing to pick up one win in 14 games. The club had been chasing the playoff places in the third tier as they got off to a solid start, but that form was not to last long as their poor run began and they slipped down into the bottom half of the table.

Sometimes a change in management is what is needed for a club to achieve their goals, it is unfortunate for the man in charge and sometimes even the fans, as we have seen fans can develop a sentimental attachment to the person leading their club. But sometimes things just do not work out, after all, not every match is meant to be.

And with this in mind, we take a look at who could be the next name on the sacking list, with plenty of clubs showing the kind of form that could see a manager depart.
