Oh, the pain. This Lincoln fan names Mark Cooper and Barrow, but we have all felt that agony as a crowd favourite makes a move to a hated rival. It doesn’t have to be a local rival either: it might be a club you think are the same size as you, but that he chooses to move to for what you can only imagine must be the money. It happens every summer: you form an attachment to a player over a year, two or maybe even three, and then he’s off as if it were just a job to him and not his lifelong ambition to play for your League Two club. It’s almost as if he doesn’t have every home programme going back to 1960, scarves on his wall and a picture-perfect recollection of every goal you scored when you last finished in the top ten of the Fourth Division, isn’t it?
