Professional Background
Tom has been a teacher for over ten years and has had a passion for sports since childhood. He has written for The Real EFL for two years and has had his work printed in Late Tackle and on Gamers Decide.
For Late Tackle, Tom has written several pieces including recounts of memorable matches, player profiles and a focus on the wonderful summer that was Euro 96.
On the Gamers Decide site, the focus was on Football Manager and several areas such as the best tactics to employ and the best strikers to sign.
Some of Tom’s areas of expertise include predictions, deep dives and analysing data to produce insightful articles.

Tom’s role at THE Real EFL includes reporting on the latest football news, creating predictions and match previews as well as producing team and stadium information pages.
In the past, he has interviewed figures from the world of football and produced insightful articles alongside. Tom has been able to use data to create a series of work around average points and high-performing players as well as a series documenting his gaming journey.
Tom has written in-depth about topics such as the influx of Irish players to England’s lower leagues, opinion pieces like the three up, three down National League debate and a deep dive into Sheffield Wednesday during their League One days.

Aside from writing about football, Tom has gained a number of scouting certificates related to different areas of football. He has achieved certificates in opposition analysis, talent identification and performance analysis.
Personal Insights
From a young age, Tom has had a passion for football. This passion was fuelled by attending live games up and down the footballing pyramid. Often having an opinion on what he had just witnessed, Tom eventually took this passion into writing.
