Newly installed Rangers manager Danny Rohl appears set on a reunion with Sheffield Wednesday striker Bailey Cadamarteri, according to The Yorkshire Post.
Rohl is thought to have instructed his bosses to construct a deal that could tempt Cadmarteri to Ibrox.
Rohl Begins The Rangers Rebuild
After a defeat in his first match away at Brann in the Europa League, Danny Rohl has planted seeds of hope at Ibrox in an otherwise dismal campaign.
The former Wednesday boss has overseen 2 league victories, at home to Kilmarnock and away at Hibernian, and is now looking to stamp his authority on the squad.
Cadamarteri was under Rohl’s tutelage for 2 years, breaking into the first team and spending time on loan in League One with Lincoln City during that time.
The 20-year-old has scored just 1 goal this season in a struggling Wednesday side surrounded by unrest. However, the Jamaican international managed 8 goals in an injury hit spell with the Imps last season.
His former boss has seen enough in the player to pursue a transfer to take Cadamarteri north of the border.

From Hillsborough To Ibrox – Too Big To Resist?
Rangers may not have won the Scottish title since 2021, and that won’t change this year, but Cadamarteri may be tempted by the chance to win medals in Scotland.
The Glasgow giants need a rebuild and believe Danny Rohl is the man to get them back to the top of Scottish football.
As recently as 2022, Rangers were Europa League finalists, and in 2024, they were League Cup winners. The trophy haul at Ibrox is astronomical and, with European football almost annually, Bailey Cadamarteri could well be tempted north.
Sheffield Wednesday is a big club in itself, but the turmoil that has surrounded them, along with the points deduction, appears to have condemned them to League One football next season.
For someone who is forcing his way into his national side, the opportunity to swap 3rd tier football for the pressures of playing for Rangers and competing in Europe will surely benefit his chances with the Reggae Boyz.
Could Wednesday Be Forced To Sell?
Following the jubilant scenes at Hillsborough upon the removal of Dejphon Chansiri, the reality is that the Owls are likely to lose players.
High earners are at risk, but so too are players like Bailey Cadamarteri, who will command a decent fee. At just 20 years old, with Championship experience and the potential to reach a high ceiling, selling Bailey Cadamarteri could work in a financial sense for Sheffield Wednesday.
Hillsborough Could Lose A Gem
This has been a testing time to be a Sheffield Wednesday supporter, and fans will be disappointed to hear their former boss is chasing one of their brightest sparks. Financially the deal may work, but it will be a blow for the club to lose one of their own.
Rangers will likely find no problem in putting a financial package together that would be acceptable to those now in charge at Hillsborough, so the move north of the border is one for Cadamarteri to decide.
