Harrogate Town To Swoop For Former Leicester City Striker

Admiral Muskwe, the 26-year-old free agent, is reportedly close to signing for Harrogate Town in League Two after departing Championship side Luton Town over the summer.

The forward has been training with Simon Weaver’s side and looks poised to reinvigorate his career at the EnviroVent Stadium, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.

A Career Seeking Revival

Muskwe’s time at Luton Town came to an end following the club’s relegation from the Premier League. The former Leicester City prospect spent three years with the Hatters but struggled to secure a regular spot in the first team.

Now, Muskwe has the chance to rejuvenate his career at Harrogate Town. The club currently sit 17th in League Two and face challenges in the attacking department. With one of the lowest goal tallies in the division, Harrogate will be hoping Muskwe can provide competition and perhaps a spark to their forward line.

Harrogate Town’s Struggles in Front of Goal

Simon Weaver’s side have had a mixed campaign, with an eight-point cushion above the relegation zone but a notable lack of goals to their name. Only Tranmere Rovers and Carlisle United have scored fewer. The tight nature of League Two this season means a few good results could catapult Harrogate into contention for the play-off spots, but much will depend on their ability to address their scoring woes.

Admiral Muskwe

Admiral Muskwe developed at Leicester City’s academy, earning Academy Player of the Season in 2016 and signing his first professional contract. He had loan spells at Swindon Town and Wycombe Wanderers, scoring his first professional goal against Brentford in 2021. Muskwe joined Luton Town in 2021 and later played on loan at Fleetwood Town and Exeter City before leaving Luton in 2024. Internationally, he represented England at U-17 level, scoring twice in the 2014 Nordic Tournament, before debuting for Zimbabwe in 2017 against Lesotho.

Writer’s View

Admiral Muskwe’s expected move to Harrogate Town represents an opportunity for both player and club to take a step forward. For Muskwe, this could be the fresh start he needs to reignite a career that has struggled to find momentum. For Harrogate, his signing offers depth and potential in an underperforming forward line.
