Harrogate have been largely inconsistent so far this season, as seen by their 17th-placed standing in League Two. However, they come into the tie having won back-to-back games for the first time this season after picking up victories over Chesterfield and Gillingham. Meanwhile, Gainsborough have seemingly forgotten how to lose and have already beaten higher-league opposition in Boston United and Chester in recent weeks. Although they are 18th in the Northern League Premier, they have at least four games in hand on every other team in the division and it’s fair to say their league position is a false one.
