Crawley Town defender Kellan Gordon is remaining confident that his side can get back to winning ways after a run of seven games without a win, as reported by the Sussex Express.
Saturday’s defeat to Notts County in the FA Cup was their seventh match without a win but Gordon insists they must take the positives from the defeat, not least the amount of chances his side are creating.
The versatile right-sided player said, “Ultimately you want to win no matter how many chances you create, but on the other side of it you have to take the positives.
“If you weren’t creating the chances and losing the games then there is a real problem, but because we are creating the chances and playing exactly the way the gaffer wants us to play, we are pressing high, doing everything he wants us to do.”
“Hopefully those chances will fall and turn into goals and keep doing what we are doing and we will turn losses into wins soon.”
Crawley have a chance to get back to winning ways on Tuesday night when they entertain Aston Villa’s Under 21s and then welcome playoff-chasing Accrington Stanley to Broadfield Stadium on Saturday where Scott Lindsey’s men will be hoping to turn chances into points.
Ben Gladwin and Adam Campbell made welcome returns to the side against County and Gordon insists the squad are good enough to turn it around, saying, “Injuries are part of football. We have a couple coming back now and couple more injured. It can unsettle things, but we have a good squad and we have players to come in and fill in for others. It’s just about getting back into that rhythm and start winning games again.”

Crawley had started the season well, winning six of their opening ten games and proving many people, including those who write for this site, wrong in their pre-season predictions. Since that promising start, they have not gained three points since beating bottom club Sutton United at the end of September and will be desperate to turn this poor form around.
They have lost players through injury but most clubs will have to deal with such issues throughout the long and gruelling League Two campaign. Now, with players such as Gordon getting back to fitness, the Red Devils will be hoping to get back to winning ways. Despite their poor form, they will still be harbouring hopes of a playoff push and victory on Saturday will leave them just two points behind opponents Stanley who occupy seventh spot.
