Swindon, Tranmere and Mansfield – The Managers in the Frame

Danny Cowley

Danny Cowley’s record at Lincoln speaks for itself, two promotions, three trophies and an FA Cup quarter-final as a non-league team. Every job that comes up seems to have him linked with it, but the harsh truth is he is unlikely to drop into League Two. The only exception may be for a club like Bolton, where he could see a clear progression back to the Championship with the right method. Tranmere fans saw first hand his effectiveness as they missed out on the National League title to the Imps in 2016/17, but hopes of him taking either job are slim to none. The same, sadly, goes for Swindon Town. He’ll be looking for a Championship return, or a chance with someone like Bolton, Ipswich or Sunderland at the very least.
