Tom Carroll
28-year-old Carroll was once described as having ‘Barcelona quality‘, but a disastrous move to Aston Villa curtailed that potential. he subsequently joined Swansea and failed to impress, finding himself released this summer. He has been training with QPR, but if that comes to nothing then he might have to dip his toe into League One waters, where he would be sure to make a big splash.
Carroll has only once played in League One, on loan at Leyton Orient during his Spurs days, but with just 25 outings across two seasons in the second-tier, clubs might feel he isn’t worth the risk at that level anymore.
