Hakeeb Adelakun to Rotherham

Adelakun hasn’t had the best of times since stepping up to the Championship in 2018. The former Scunthorpe winger has barely played in 18-months, managing just five appearances for Lee Johnson’s side.
Rotherham have taken him on loan and if he thrives they’re bound to want him permanently. The Millers are a classic yo-yo team, always too good for League One but never quite sufficient to stay in the second tier. Adelakun is the sort of player who might make the difference.
They’re top of League One right now and Adelakun only makes their offering stronger. With the likes of Ladapo and Smith up top, bug players who thrive on service, adding the 23-year-old increases their chances of seeing the ball. He’s young and, if the move goes well, he could easily end up at Rotherham permanently and accruing value.
Of all of the transfer business so far, this is perhaps the second-best move we’ve seen.
