Conor Shaughnessy to Burton

Shaughnessy is another talented player to roll off the Leeds Under 23 production line, the same place that brought Kalvin Phillips, Bailey Peacock-Farrell andĀ Ronaldo Vieira who is now a Serie A star with Sampdoria.
There must be something in the water at Leeds academy because the players they produce all seem to have the talent and drive to succeed. Shaughnessy spent the first six months of this season with Mansfield, playing 15 times before being recalled. Clearly, Leeds can see the potential for development and Shaughnessy is now with Burton Albion.
They do well with loan players, Kieran O’Hara is looking solid in the sticks for them with Manchester United and whilst they’re not the biggest club in League One, they do have a reputation for managing young players well. Our only concern is game time; The Brewers have such a tight defence already that we’re not sure if Shaughnessy will see much action.
If he does, this could be a masterstroke by both Nigel Clough and Leeds.
