Birkir Bjarnason
This is definitely one for the top-end League One sides. The 31-year-old played at the 2018 World Cup for Iceland and was recently released by Aston Villa.
He’s a midfielder and could play the holding role quite well. He might suit someone such as Sunderland, but with their midfield-heavy squad, perhaps not.
Pompey need a bit of steel in there, but when he does make his move it isn’t likely to be somewhere like Gillingham or Lincoln City.
