Mk Dons suffered a heavy home defeat to Peterborough on Saturday in a game that illustrated the gulf in class between League One and League Two.
MK Dons returned to League One after last season’s promotion, and they’ve had a decent start to life in the third tier, winning two of their opening three fixtures before the visit of big-spending Peterborough.
However, Posh put them to the sword with a devasting performance that saw them 3-0 up at half time thanks to goals from Maddison, Toney and Eisa. Eisa then wrapped thing up with his second goal in the seventy-second minute in a match that MK failed to muster a single shot on target.
It was a harsh lesson for many MK fans and a worrying portent of things to come against some of the divisions bigger clubs. Most fans on social media accepted the game showed life in League One could be tougher than they imagined and that manager Paul Tisdale and the players need to learn lessons quickly if they are to remain competitive this season.
Although some fans took the opportunity to criticise Tisdale’s tactics, most appeared to be keeping their perspective as the following selection of responses to the result on Twitter illustrates.
A multi million pound strike force versus errr….a couple of quid. Demolished

To go from Tuesday night to yesterday was night and day. Second best in every department today. Might be the result in a strange way for the squad to focus. Only plus point was minutes for Dickenson— Jonathan Harries (@harriesdon87) August 25, 2019

You need to learn from this beating, take the positives and move forward.

Need another striker with the ability to at least be mobile , can control the ball, and have a presence on the field. I. Fact The complete opposite to that of Agard.
