Norwich City are set to sign yet another defensive player this summer, with The Canaries closing in on goalkeeper Vladan Kovacevic.
It has been a summer of all change at Carrow Road, with Bristol City boss Liam Manning coming to the club and making an immediate impact with the signing of Harry Darling on a free transfer. Alongside the former Swansea City man, City have signed two shot stoppers in Louie Moulden from Crystal Palace and Plymouth Argyle deputy Daniel Grimshaw.
Third Goalkeeper Set To Join
According to The Pink ‘un, Norwich have agreed a £2 million fee with additional add-ons with Sporting CP for Bosnia and Herzegovina international Vladan Kovacevic. He is expected to be the number one goalkeeper for the club, replacing Angus Gunn after his release from Norfolk back in May.
Kovacevic has struggled to make an impact at the Portuguese giants, who he signed for the previous summer and made just 10 appearances for. He ended up on loan at Polish side Legia Warsaw, in a league he was familiar with after a lengthy spell at Raków Częstochowa prior to signing for the Lisbon club.
He is reported to be travelling to England this week to complete a move, with the 27-year-old picked ahead of Leicester City‘s Jakub Stolarczyk to be Liam Manning’s new starting goalkeeper.

The signing of Vladan Kovacevic will see Norwich City pick up their new first-choice goalkeeper. Alongside Grimshaw and Moulden, The Canaries have completely revamped their goalkeeping department and will mean current players like Dan Barden are likely to leave this summer. Whilst he may have had a tough time at Sporting after a lot of hope when joining the club, Kovacevic has been part of a successful team in Rakow alongside future teammate Ante Crnac, winning four trophies, including a league and cup double, during his time there. If he can translate his success in Poland to East Anglia, then Norwich’s chances at promotion will take a well-earned boost.
