Leeds United Interested In European Forward

Leeds United have identified a striker from one of Daniel Farke’s former clubs as a potential signing.

The Whites’ spell in the EFL is over after sealing the Championship title, but many changes are to be expected from the squad as they transition from the second tier into the Premier League.

Leeds Could Move For Forward – But On One Condition

Leeds are already scouring the transfer markets for potential wingers with the future of Manor Solomon in the air. The Israeli, who scored the decisive goal against Plymouth Argyle to secure their second top-flight title in five years, looks set to be heading back to parent club Tottenham Hotspur, but recent reports from Football Insider suggest that Ange Postecoglou’s side are prepared to let him leave North London this summer.

Should a move for Solomon not materialise, one potential replacement could come in the form of Borussia Mönchengladbach’s Franck Honorat. The French international has been a leading light for The Foals despite missing half of the Bundesliga season, with 12 goals and assists across 19 matches in all competitions.

He is a man in demand across Europe, with Besiktas and Nice showing interest. Reports in Turkey from Fotospor have suggested that, should Gladbach fail to qualify for any form of UEFA competition this season, Honorat may leave the club.

Writer’s View

With a step up in division, sentiments can’t be left around and Leeds United need to drastically strengthen to break the trend of promoted sides getting relegated the following season. Franck Honorat would be a good addition but it would have to come at the sacrifice of one of their existing players. Willy Gnonto is a known Premier League asset, whilst Largie Ramazani has room to grow. If a move for Manor Solomon is made in addition to the Monchengladbach winger, it may facilitate a departure for Dan James.

A new winger should not be the only place Leeds look this summer. With Patrick Bamford’s future being a hot topic of debate, Joel Piroe will need some strong support up front. With Norwich City failing to get promotion, perhaps Farke should raid another of his former clubs for star striker Josh Sargent.
