Leeds United are stepping up their interest in Semih Kılıçsoy, with reports from Turkey claiming club representatives will travel to Istanbul at the end of the season to initiate negotiations with Beşiktaş.
The 18-year-old striker is firmly on the radar of the newly promoted Premier League side, who are keen to secure youthful firepower for their top-flight return. Leeds are said to be monitoring Kılıçsoy closely and view him as a long-term investment at Elland Road. A potential loan deal is reportedly one of the options being considered, although no formal bid has been made to date.
Approaches Resisted
Beşiktaş have so far resisted approaches for their prized asset. Club president Serdal Adalı previously dismissed interest in Kılıçsoy during the January window, echoing the stance taken by former president Hasan Arat. However, with the season drawing to a close, there is growing speculation that Leeds may test the Turkish club’s resolve with a firm offer.
Kılıçsoy joined Beşiktaş in 2016 after emerging through the ranks at GOP Venüs and Arnavutköy Yaylaspor. A prolific scorer at youth level, he made his senior debut in February 2023 and scored his first professional goal against KF Tirana in July the same year. His performances earned him a contract extension in January 2024, tying him to the club until 2028.
On the international stage, Kılıçsoy has progressed through every youth level for Turkey. He earned his first senior cap in June 2024 in a pre-Euro 2024 friendly against Italy and was later included in the final 26-man squad for the tournament.
Highly regarded for his versatility, the young forward can also play as a winger or attacking midfielder and is known for his two-footed ability. His style of play has drawn comparisons to Sergio Agüero, whom he names as his footballing idol.
