Swansea City Make First Summer Signing

Swansea City have kicked off the Championship’s summer transfer window just two days after the end of the regular season with the signing of Zeidane Inoussa.

The winger joins from Swedish Allsvenskan side BK Hacken for an undisclosed fee, with the Gothenburg side having a tough start to their season. The 2022 champions are in seventh place after seven games and failed to qualify for the UEFA Conference League this season.

Winger Becomes First Sheehan Signing

The Swans have been very active in their transfer business in recent weeks after signing Alan Sheehan as their permanent manager. City have been reported to be on the brink of another attacking signing, with Bobby Wales set to arrive in South Wales from Scottish Premiership side Kilmarnock.

However, he is not the first through the door, with the club confirming their move for Inoussa on their official website. Speaking about the 22-year-old, who will join on July 1st, Sheehan said:

“It’s important that we carry this season’s momentum into next, and getting our first signing done this early is great. I’m looking forward to working with Zeidane. We want to be an aggressive team with and without the ball, and we believe he has all the attributes to do that and to make us better.”

It is never too early to start doing transfer business and Swansea City have been very pragmatic in recent weeks. Bobby Wales may not be a starter when arriving but is a great future signing, and now they have moved for Zaidane Inoussa. He has only played once in the league this season with a foot injury keeping him on the sidelines, nut was a star for Hacken last season with 15 goal contributions in 34 games. That was his first full season of football at a club so whilst it is still early days in his career, The Jacks have recruited someone who has room to grow and develop in a difficult league like the Championship.
