Lincoln City manager Michael Skubala has offered a cautiously optimistic update on the fitness of three sidelined players ahead of their League One visit to Wycombe Wanderers.
While the Imps have hit the 50-point mark and appear safe from relegation fears, Skubala confirmed that Ethan Erhahon, Freddie Draper and Jack Moylan are all progressing in their recoveries – though none are expected to feature this weekend.
Recovery timeline still uncertain
Speaking ahead of the trip to Adams Park, Skubala downplayed expectations of any imminent returns, particularly for Moylan and Erhahon. Both players are back on the training pitch but remain in the early stages of their respective rehab schedules.
“Nothing much is changing really. Jack Moylan as you know, is great he’s running and on the grass. Ethan Erhahon edges closer, he on the grass now as well. Freddy is back in team training this week, which is good news. We’re getting bodies back, which is nice.”
While Draper’s reintroduction to team sessions offers some encouragement, the 20-year-old striker is still considered a doubt for the Wycombe fixture, having only recently resumed full training. He has scored four goals this season and had shown promising form prior to his lay-off.
Erhahon, a standout performer since his move from St Mirren, is edging closer but is still considered “a few weeks away” from a return to action. Meanwhile, Moylan, who has impressed since arriving at the club, is further behind in his recovery.
Asked whether any of the trio might be named on the bench, Skubala remained realistic:
“Maybe. Freddy’s just returned to team training, so it might be a bit early for him, but he’s very close. Ethan is still a few weeks away, and Jack is further off than that.”
With that in mind, City are expected to name an unchanged side for a third consecutive fixture, barring any late injuries. The Imps remain unbeaten at Wycombe since the start of the 2021/22 campaign – a record they’ll be keen to protect, even if promotion is out of reach.

Writer’s view
Skubala is taking the smart route by not rushing key players back with safety all but secured. The squad consistency could be a positive as Lincoln look to influence the League One run-in from a mid-table position. Draper’s return may come soon, but fans will likely need to wait a little longer to see Erhahon and Moylan back in red and white.
