Jordan Thomas has emerged as a player in demand, with Championship outfit Millwall among the clubs monitoring the Cheltenham Town winger ahead of the summer window.
The 23-year-old has impressed since joining the Robins from National League South side Bath City for £5,000 in January 2024. After making the step up, Thomas has become one of Cheltenham’s brightest talents, contributing six goals this season from various attacking roles.
Scouts from across the UK have been tracking his progress, with representatives from the Championship, League One and the Scottish Premiership all spotted at recent Whaddon Road fixtures. Millwall, in particular, are believed to have kept close tabs on his development.
Versatility and value attracting suitors
Thomas’ ability to play across the frontline – including out wide, in a wing-back role and even as a number 10 – has made him a valuable asset under Michael Flynn. His key contributions include a double at Colchester United in October, a long-range goal against Peterborough United in the EFL Trophy, and a dramatic late equaliser at home to Walsall.
Perhaps most notably, he fired in a fine finish in the recent 3-3 draw at Swindon Town, showcasing both composure and technique that has helped increase his profile beyond League Two.
Gloucestershire Live reports there is a six-figure release clause in Thomas’ current deal, which still has over a year remaining. Bath City are also due a percentage of any future transfer, making a potential move financially beneficial for both clubs.
The winger is based in Oxfordshire and was signed under the watch of then-head of recruitment Russell Milton. He flourished at Bath under Jerry Gill, earning recognition as one of non-league’s top attacking talents before making the jump to the EFL.
While no formal bids have been lodged, interest is expected to intensify as the season draws to a close – especially if Cheltenham are unable to keep hold of their standout players amid a summer of expected transition.

Writer’s view
Jordan Thomas is a classic example of non-league talent thriving at a higher level, and it’s no surprise he’s now on the radar of bigger clubs. With a modest release clause and positional flexibility, he represents value in a market that increasingly seeks low-risk, high-potential signings.
Millwall’s interest in Thomas reflects a desire to add creativity, versatility, and goal threat to their squad. With a reasonable price tag, ability to fit seamlessly into their system, and the potential to develop further, Thomas could prove to be an astute signing that offers both immediate impact and future value.
