Our Three Predictions For Birmingham City vs Wycombe Wanderers

        • Prediction 1 – Alfie May To Score – 13/8
        • Prediction 2 – Over 2.5 Goals Scored – 11/10
        • Prediction 3 – Birmingham City To Win – 7/10

First Prediction For Birmingham City vs Wycombe Wanderers – Alfie May To Score – 13/8

Jay Stansfield’s knock from their EFL Trophy match against Bradford City means that Alfie May has stepped up to lead the line and played the majority of The Blues’ last game against Leyton Orient. With Will Wright and Lyndon Dykes’ injuries against Reading earlier in the week, Birmingham are slightly short with attacking options and likely means that the former Charlton Athletic man will get another start this weekend. He scored in the reverse fixture back in August and will hope to get his own double when they renew acquaintances this weekend.

Second Prediction For Birmingham City vs Wycombe Wanderers – Over 2.5 Goals Scored – 11/10

Their draw with Reading last week was just the third time this season that Birmingham City failed to score. The Blues have averaged 1.71 goals per game and more importantly come up against the league’s top scorers in Wycombe, who have found the net 58 times so far this season. The fixture at Adams Park was a hard-fought and high-scoring contest that ended 3-2 in City’s favour. If that match is anything to go by, there should be a few goals in this match. But with how imperious Birmingham are at home, this could be a risky choice to make.

Third Prediction For Birmingham City vs Wycombe Wanderers- Birmingham City To Win – 7/10

Birmingham City have conceded just seven goals in 16 League One home games this season and are still undefeated at St. Andrew’s. Wycombe’s goalscoring form has slipped into a clear struggle over recent weeks, with just four goals across all competitions including two goalless draws against Preston North End in the FA Cup and Wigan Athletic. This is the last chance anyone has to catch up with Birmingham in the title race but it is more than likely that The Blues will overwhelm Mike Dodds’ side and get one foot across the finish line to claim the League One title this season.

Full Preview Of The Game: Last Results And Head-To-Head

Birmingham come into this game after seeing off Leyton Orient in midweek with a 2-0 win, putting them in a commanding position heading into this crunch tie. They sit nine points clear of their opponents whilst also having a game in hand on The Chairboys. They are also yet to lose in league play this year, with their sole defeat coming against Premier League side Newcastle United in the FA Cup, which was their second defeat of the season at St. Andrew’s after Fulham beat them in the EFL Cup. They have kept four clean sheets in a row in the third tier, shutting out Orient, Reading, Charlton Athletic and Cambridge United. They do have a few fitness concerns in attack with issues to Scott Wright and Lyndon Dykes from last weekend. Wycombe have faltered slightly across their recent results with four draws in their last five games but have had a longer break compared to their hosts. Their only win came against Bristol Rovers two weeks ago and their most recent game was last weekend, being held to a goalless draw against Wigan Athletic. Depsite this slump, the teams behind them have also slipped up meaning that regardless of the result they will remain in second place barring a large goal swing in third-placed Wrexham‘s favour. Wycombe are statistically the strongest away team in League One this season, picking up 32 points in 16 games and have scored 36 times on the road. They were given a major boost against The Latics with the return of star striker Richard Kone, who came off of the bench in the latter stages. These two sides have only played each other three times in recent history, with one win, loss and draw on their records. Wycombe were the winners the last time they travelled to the West Midlands back in 2020, but it was The Blues who won most recently with a 3-2 win at Adams Park.
