Hull City Star Makes Transfer Revelation

Hull City loanee Gustavo Puerta has expressed his love for the club and suggested he would be open to staying at the MKM Stadium beyond this season.

The 21-year-old midfielder joined the Tigers on loan from Bayer Leverkusen last summer, with Hull holding an option to make the deal permanent in the summer transfer window.

‘I love to be here’ – Puerta’s view on Hull City

Since arriving in East Yorkshire, Puerta has made 20 appearances in all competitions, 19 of which have come in the Championship. Speaking about his time with the club, he praised the support he has received.

“This is an excellent club. They support you, they give you everything, they’re always there for you regardless,” Puerta told HullLive.

“Now we should think step by step. I’m focused on playing. If I have to stay for many seasons, I will surely do it. Like I said, it’s an excellent club. I love to be here, and they follow you and support you in every single aspect.”

“Hull City is a club that will provide me joy, and the club supports me a lot, and I want to give back all those things that they did provide me throughout these months.”

Fighting for his place

Puerta was brought in to strengthen Hull’s midfield depth, competing for a starting role alongside Elliot Matazo, Regan Slater, Steven Alzate, and Matt Crooks.

Despite his evident talent, he was left on the bench in Hull’s recent 2-1 defeat to Stoke City, with manager Ruben Selles continuing to rotate his squad.

What next for Puerta?

Whether Hull take up their option to buy Puerta permanently remains to be seen. The Colombian youth international has plenty of potential, and his performances between now and the end of the season could determine whether he secures a long-term future at the club.

For now, Puerta’s focus remains on helping the Tigers push for a strong finish in the Championship, starting with their upcoming trip to Burnley.

Writer’s view

Puerta’s commitment and enthusiasm for Hull City will be welcomed by fans, and his technical ability makes him an exciting prospect. However, with strong competition for places, he will need to consistently prove his value to secure a permanent move. With crucial games ahead, he has a chance to cement his place in Selles’ plans for the long term.
