Former Sheffield Wednesday Man Joins League One Club

After months of searching for a new club, Sheffield Wednesday icon Adam Reach has finally signed a permanent deal with League One promotion hopefuls Wycombe Wanderers.

The former Owl left West Bromwich Albion over the summer and had spent the following months looking for a new side. He had previously been on trial with Swansea City and reports from Football League World at the start of the window suggested he might join Carlisle United in League Two.

Wycombe announced the transfer via their website as they look to gain promotion back into the Championship. They finally filled their managerial vacancy by appointing Sunderland’s assistant head coach Mike Dodds.

Speaking to the club’s media upon the move, Wanderers’ Chief Football Officer Dan Rice said:

“Adam is a player of vast experience which will be vital for us in achieving our objective this season and we’re really pleased to welcome him to the club.

“He carries a real goal threat in attacking positions but is also capable of playing deeper and at full-back so to have someone of his versatility will be a big help to the team.

“We’ve been working extremely hard on our recruitment, long before the window opened, and we’ll be ending the window in an extremely strong position once we’ve completed our business by 11pm tonight.”

Adam Reach has found this period of his life difficult in trying to find a new club and finally can get playing football again with Wycombe Wanderers. He still has a lot to offer and his experience can be a great asset to The Chairboys coming into the latter stages of this season. Midfield has been a big target for the club this window with Rangers’ Alex Lowry and Magnus Westegaard both coming in. This should be a great balance to those two and add to a squad that can certainly go up this season.
