Bradford City have resigned former defender Romoney Crichlow on a permanent basis from Peterborough United.
The centre-back had a very successful spell with The Bantams on loan from Huddersfield Town, reaching the play-offs under Mark Hughes. His stint at Valley Parade led to Peterborough United making a permanent move for him the following summer.
Bantams Reunion Confirmed
Crichlow has had a very tough time at London Road, and has failed to break into their first team despite all of the defensive issues the club has faced this season in League One. Darren Ferguson opted to send the 25-year-old briefly on loan to Dagenham and Redbridge, where he played 15 times for the National League club.
Bradford announced the move to sign their former centre-back permanently for the remainder of the season, with the option for an additional year. Crichlow spoke to the club’s media upon the move, saying:
“I am really pleased to be back and am very excited to get going again.
“Once I found out there was some interest and the opportunity came up, it was a no-brainer for me.
“The obvious reason I wanted to return was the fans and all the good times I had here.”

With Cheick Diabate recalled by Exeter City and a couple of defensive injuries, including to Ciaran Kelly and Lewis Richards, Bradford City needed to strengthen at the back. Romoney Crichlow is a beloved figure at the club for his effort and work two seasons ago so it feels like a match made in heaven. He has had a tough time since leaving Valley Parade in 2023 so a return to an environment he has thrived in before should hopefully get his career back on track. Graham Alexander’s use of a back five puts will also suit him with how he played under a similar formation for Mark Hughes at the club.
