Our Three Predictions For Blackburn Rovers vs Coventry City

        • Prediction 1 – Both Teams To Score – 4/5
        • Prediction 2 – Under 2.5 Goals Scored – 11/10
        • Prediction 3 – Match To End In A Draw – 2/1

First Prediction For Blackburn Rovers vs Coventry City – Both Teams To Score – 4/5

Clean sheets are often hard to come by in the Championship for many teams and these two have had some struggles. Whilst certainly, there have been a few games this season when they have managed to shut out other teams, Blackburn are in a very tough spot defensively, with three defenders out of this game and a doubt surrounding Kyle McFadzean who is suffering with an illness. Coventry kept a clean sheet on Saturday against Bristol City, but Rovers have been strong at home, scoring six goals in their last five home matches.

Second Prediction For Blackburn Rovers vs Coventry City – Under 2.5 Goals Scored – 11/10

Blackburn are lacking a real standout striker and whilst Mukhtar Gueye has slowly become a threat, they need someone more clinical. One of their targets may play them in this match, with Brandon Thomas-Asante, who scored City’s winner against Bristol City. Whilst Coventry have been strong with the depth of their goalscoring outlets, they will be without Haji Wright and Ellis Simms is still struggling to find last season’s form. It is a game that lacks any clearcut attackers unlike clashes from previous years.

Third Prediction For Blackburn Rovers vs Coventry City – Match To End In A Draw – 2/1

There has not been a winner in any of the contests between these two sides at Ewood Park since 2008, when Coventry City handed Blackburn a 4-1 defeat in the FA Cup. Since the two teams renewed acquaintances in League action, Rovers have won just once, with a 4-0 hammering of The Sky Blues back in 2020. With the attacking struggles, past record and defensive frailties both teams can have, that drawing run could be extending in this game.

Full Preview Of The Game: Last Results And Head-To-Head

Blackburn come into this game in the midst of an injury crisis, with as many as nine first team players unavailable for this game. Many of them are defenders, with three confirmed to be missing with a fourth, Kyle McFadzean, currently out with an illness. John Eustace’s side have been active in the transfer market and are rumoured to be pursuing two of Coventry’s players in Brandon Thomas-Asante and Liam Kitching. On the pitch, they lost in their most recent game against Oxford United, their second loss in five games having also fallen to Lancashire rivals Burnley. They do have positive results in their recent history after holding Leeds United to a draw at Elland Road as well as an away win against Middlesbrough.

Coventry City are still finding their footing under Frank Lampard and across their last five games, it has been a positive beginning for the former Derby County manager at the club. Since that poor start with losses to Hull City and Portsmouth, The Sky Blues have only lost once against Norwich City. Three of their last five have been draws and in their most recent game they managed to capture a win against Bristol City.

As mentioned previously, there has not been a winner in a game at Ewood Park between these two teams since 2008, with the last five games all being draws. The two games played last season only saw one goal scored, courtesy of Haji Wright late on in the game in the West Midlands. The reverse fixture this season also went the way of what was Mark Robins’ team, outclassing Rovers 3-0. Since 2017 there have been five draws, two Blackburn wins and three Coventry wins.
