Christian Saydee could be on his way out of Portsmouth this window as interest from League One clubs has emerged.
The Pompey attacker has played in 20 of the club’s Championship games this season and has started eight but as of late has struggled for regular game time. He made his first start since October this weekend as Portsmouth fell in the FA Cup Third Round to Wycombe Wanderers.

According to reports from journalist Darren Witcoop, a number of unnamed League One clubs are interested in signing Saydee during the January transfer window. It is believed that Portsmouth would sanction an exit for the 22-year-old if they can find a suitable replacement.
John Mousinho’s side have already made a few outgoings, with fellow attacker Elias Sorensen leaving the club just six months after joining, heading to Norwegian top-flight side Valerenga. One incoming has already been touted, with Brisbane Roar’s Thomas Waddingham a target, but Pompey face competition from Sheffield Wednesday.
Portsmouth are in a tricky spot when it comes to attacking options following Sorensen’s departure, with Colby Bishop the only fit striker at the club with Kusini Yengi injured until next month and Mark O’Mahony also on the road to recovery.

Allowing a sale of Christian Saydee right now does put Portsmouth in a very tricky situation with their forward options but as mentioned, he would only be allowed to go should a replacement be signed. A move away would be good for the former Shrewsbury Town loanee, and indeed Salop could be a good option to go to as they look to beat the drop under Gareth Ainsworth. With 18 months still on his contract, Pompey are under no obligation to sell and should hold until Thomas Waddingham or another as yet unidentified option seal a move to Fratton Park.
