A win could boost them as high as 14th place after the midweek fixtures end should results go their way.
For Queens Park Rangers, it is a very bleak period. Whilst they are gathering some points with consistent draws, their rivals are undoing that progress with an occasional win. Portsmouth’s win over Preston North End put Pompey above Marti Cifuentes’s side and left them rock bottom of the table going into this match.
