1st Prediction For Derby County vs Swansea City: Derby County to win 7/5

Luke Williams’ side will travel to Pride Park feeling very deflated after gaining no points from their last two games against Leeds and Burnley. Whilst, on the face of it, losing to sides of the calibre of Leeds and Burnley should not be disheartening, it is the manner of the defeats that will have knocked the wind out of the Swans’ sails. They produced a reasonably accomplished performance at Turf Moor before the international break only to concede a penalty in the 94th minute which consigned them to defeat. Against Leeds, Swansea took the lead twice before going behind and equalising in the 90th minute only to concede in the 91st minute and lose the match. It will be hard for the Swans to travel to Derby, who have only lost once at home all season and get a result considering the mental anguish they have been through.

2nd Prediction For Derby County vs Swansea City: Derby County to win and both teams to score 22/5

A more daring prediction would be to say that Swansea City will score, even though they will eventually lose the game. Luke Williams’ side have generally underperformed their xG this season but they were at their clinical best against Leeds, scoring three times from an xG of 1.57 and converting two of their three chances. Additionally, Paul Warne’s Derby have failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their last five games as injuries and changes in system have meant that they have struggled to maintain a consistent backline over that period.

3rd Prediction For Derby County vs Swansea City: Ronald Pereira to get an assist at any time 11/2

As a part of the changes in system used by Paul Warne, Kayden Jackson, who won promotion with Ipswich last season, has recently been asked to play as an attack-minded wing-back for the Rams. Jackson is a player who is very forward thinking and, although he is hard-working, he is not the best technical defender. This could mean that Swansea winger Ronald Pereira runs riot in Derbyshire on Wednesday evening. The 23-year-old was signed from Portugal in January and has been Swansea’s most creative player this season. The wide man already has four assists in the Championship and he has created seven big chances in the second tier which is the third highest of any player in the division. If Luke Williams sees Jackson playing as a wing-back on the team sheet, he will surely make sure that his winger targets him.

Full Preview Of The Game: Last Results And Head-To-Head

Luke Williams’ Swansea currently sit in 14th place in the Championship after a difficult run of fixtures. Paul Warne’s side, meanwhile, sit in 11th place and have impressed upon their return to the second tier, silencing many fans and pundits who tipped them for relegation before the start of the season. The game will be tightly contested, as both teams look to build on their recent good performances and good results in order to push up the table and potentially challenge for a playoff spot.
