Our Three Predictions For Stoke City vs Norwich City

  • Prediction 1 – Both sides to score – 1.61
  • Prediction 2 – Borja Sainz to score anytime – 4.70
  • Prediction 3 – Norwich City to win – 2.70

First Prediction For Stoke City vs Norwich City – Both sides to score – 1.61

Their win over Hull City was just the second time this season Norwich kept a clean sheet, with the other coming against Coventry City at the end of August. Stoke are averaging just over a goal a game, but have been shut out by defences three times in the league this season. With Norwich’s goalkeeper Angus Gunn recently recovering from a rib injury and Jacob Sorensen looking a doubt due to an Achilles tendon injury, Stoke could capitalise on their probable absences to get on the scoresheet.

Second Prediction For Stoke City vs Norwich City – Borja Sainz to score anytime – 4.70

The Spaniard is the joint top scorer in the Championship this season, tied with West Bromwich Albion’s Josh Maja. He doesn’t feature for his Spanish national team so whilst many of the players in Saturday’s feature will have played once or twice for their nations, the 23-year-old has had a week of training and rest, meaning he will be fresh for this game. With Stoke only keeping three clean sheets this season and Sainz being Norwich’s biggest threat, he feels like he can contribute once again to his total.

Third Prediction For Stoke City vs Norwich City – Norwich City to Win – 2.70

Norwich City do look like one of the best attacking outlets in the Championship and there shouldn’t be any reason why they can’t continue their good form in this match. Both Sainz and Sargent should have enough rest going into this game and combined have contributed to 16 goals for the club this season. They do have a fairly lengthy injury list but a few of those players should be in contention to appear either from the start or on the bench on Saturday.

Full Preview Of The Game: Last Results And Head-To-Head

The Canaries travel north as the more in-form team, having gone unbeaten in their last four games before the international break. They trounced Hull City 4-0 in their final game and will aim to continue that form across their week-long hiatus. Johannes Hoff Thorup will be thankful that the USA only used key striker Josh Sargent for an hour in the Stars and Stripes’ 2-0 loss to Mexico, whilst top scorer Borja Sainz gained some well-earned rest after not making the Spanish squad.

Stoke drew in their final game before the break, but will look to their 6-1 demolition of Swansea City for inspiration. Striker Tom Cannon scored four times in that game and will hope he can add to his tally after blanking in South Wales. They will definitely be without Lynden Gooch due to a ligament injury and Sam Gallagher due to a hamstring issue, whilst it may still be too soon for both Bosun Lawal and Ben Pearson. They sit in 17th in the Championship table, with that massive win over Pompey being their first in over a month.

Norwich won both games in this fixture last year, claiming a 1-0 win away from home before clinically dispatching Stoke 3-0 at Carrow Road in their last meeting. Pelach will hope he can bring The Potters their first victory in this game since 2018, when a Timm Klose own goal was the only thing separating both sides. Since then the Norfolk club have won five times and drawn twice.
