Lincoln City’s injury list continues to shift ahead of their crucial game against Birmingham City.
While the Imps are buoyed by the return of striker Ben House and midfielder Ethan Hamilton, they’ve been dealt a significant blow with the news that Tom Bayliss will be out for an extended period following a knee ligament injury.
Mixed News for Lincoln City
Manager Michael Skubala has confirmed that Bayliss, who suffered the injury during Lincoln’s clash with Barnsley, could face a lengthy spell on the sidelines. The injury, which may require surgery, is being monitored closely by the club’s medical team. Bayliss, a key signing over the summer, has been an influential figure early in the season but now joins the growing list of injured players.
However, Skubala has been able to welcome back Ben House, who has recovered from a concussion sustained in their 2-0 win over Cambridge. House’s return to full training this week has given the squad a timely boost, with the striker showing sharpness ahead of Saturday’s clash.
“We’ve picked up a few bodies that we didn’t think we had injuries wise. Jacko’s a late fitness test because he’s felt something from Grimsby, but we’ll see how he is, if he can make Saturday. If not, we might have to send him for a scan,” Skubala told BBC Radio Lincolnshire.
“Hammo’s back, Rico’s back in full training, House is back as well. The two international boys, Sean and JJ, have come back fresh, not injured, so they’re really in contention to start again. We’re healthy – we could be healthier, but we’ll see.”
In more positive news, Ethan Hamilton is fully fit after featuring in recent games against Leyton Orient and Grimsby. Skubala is optimistic that Hamilton, along with winger Reeco Hackett, will be available for selection on Saturday. Both players have returned to full training and are expected to play a role in Lincoln’s game plan against Birmingham City.

With Bayliss sidelined, Lincoln City’s depth will be tested, but the return of Ben House and Ethan Hamilton provides crucial reinforcements. As Lincoln face high-flying Birmingham City, Skubala will hope his refreshed squad can maintain their momentum. House’s experience could be the key in breaking down a tough opponent, while Bayliss’ absence will be a test of the team’s adaptability moving forward.
