Former Queens Park Rangers Star Available For ‘Cut Price’

Former Queens Park Rangers attacker Bright Osayi-Samuel is set to be sold by Turkish giants Fenerbahce this summer for a “cut price”, according to the latest reports.

The Nigeria international moved to Loftus Road back in 2017 for an undisclosed fee from Blackpool after coming up through the youth ranks into the first-team with the Seasiders. He went on to make 115 appearances for QPR over the course of his three-and-a-half-year spell with the club, scoring 13 goals and recording 13 assists in all competitions.

Following some excellent displays across the 2019/20 campaign, it was reported that Belgian giants Club Brugge had agreed a £4.75 million fee with the West London outfit to sign the versatile forward and that he was set for a medical with the club. Nevertheless, a deal never came to fruition.

Osayi-Samuel remained at Queens Park Rangers until January when he joined Turkish Super Lig side Fenerbahce where he has played his football ever since. Nevertheless, reports began circulating back in March that the 26-year-old had garnered interest from a number of clubs in England, including Leeds United, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Crystal Palace ahead of the summer window.

Now, The Sun have revealed that Osayi-Samuel will likely be sold by Fenerbahce for a “cut price” before the transfer window closes at the end of August. The club are keen to reduce their wage bill, having recently appointed former Chelsea, Manchester United and Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho, and Osayi-Samuel will be one of the first names out the door.

Queens Park Rangers Could Lose £2.4 Million-Rated Star

Additionally, the outlet are claiming that Leeds, Wolves and Palace have all reignited their interest in the winger, who can also play as a fullback, while newly-promoted Premier League side Southampton have now joined the running.

It was at Queens Park Rangers where Osayi-Samuel really blossomed into the player he is today. While his time in Turkey hasn’t been an overwhelming success, he could still do a job for a team in the Premier League or potentially even the Championship.

As a result of Archie Gray looking likely to leave Elland Road for Tottenham Hotspur and the possibility of both Wilfried Gnonto and Crysencio Summerville being sold this summer, Osayi-Samuel could be an excellent addition to Leeds’ squad due to his ability to cover a number of different positions.
