Wrexham and Cardiff City have reportedly shown major interest in Millwall striker Tom Bradshaw as the Lions look increasingly likely to let the forward move permanently this summer.
According to reports from Rich Cawley of the South London Press, newly promoted League One club Wrexham are the latest side to pursue Bradshaw’s signature. However, Darren Witcoop also reported that Cardiff contacted Millwall recently, asking about the 31-year-old’s availability.
Bradshaw has one year remaining on his contract at the Den after making enough appearances in 2023/24 to trigger a contract extension clause. But the Lions are seemingly eager to sell the Welsh international for a fee during the summer window.
Also, the South London Press stated that Neil Harris’ outfit is looking to offload Bradshaw to raise transfer funds. The Championship side have been linked with a move for Notts County’s highly-rated striker Macaulay Langstaff.
Bradshaw has been a key attacking figure for Millwall since initially joining the South London side on loan from Barnsley in 2018. The Welshman then joined permanently in 2019 and made a particular impact in the 2022/23 campaign, striking 16 goals and making four assists.
Yet the experienced forward endured a difficult 2023/24 season. During the Lions’ campaign, Bradshaw scored just four goals and made three assists in 34 appearances.
Moreover, the Welsh international failed to score in any of his Championship appearances in 2024. Bradshaw struggled late in the Lions’ campaign due to injury and only started just five of Millwall’s final 21 fixtures, as recorded by Transfermarkt.
Wrtier’s View
2023/24 was a challenging season for Bradshaw and Millwall. Ultimately, the experienced Welshman saw limited game time due to a combination of injuries and Harris favouring the strike partnership of Michael Obafemi and Zian Flemming.
Millwall now see this summer as the ideal time to cash in on Bradshaw, due to his contract automatically extending. This could suit both parties as the Lions seek to raise transfer funds in pursuit of Longstaff. Also, Bradshaw would be an experienced and welcome addition to Cardiff or Wrexham with over 400 EFL appearances under his belt, as recorded by Transfermarkt.
