Ex-Millwall forward Nana Boateng has signed for Sutton United permanently after his contract with the Championship club expired.
He departed from the London club as one of nine under-21 players to leave this summer following the end of the 2023/24 season.
Boateng now links up with Millwall club legend Steve Morison, who has managed The Yellows since January of this year and will embark on his first full transfer window with the club.
The former Leeds United and Norwich City winger joined from Isthmian Premier League side Hornchurch but was unable to steer Sutton away from League Two relegation with their fate sealed on the final day of the season against MK Dons.
Gander Green Lane will be the third home stadium Boateng will have played at in the National League after playing for both Woking and Solihull Moors in previous loan spells from Millwall last season.
He has also been a feature in The Lions’ matchday squads, being named as an unused sub against Coventry City and a brief cameo against Premier League side Crystal Palace.
The 21-year-old was involved in the National League play-off final for Moors, coming on as a substitute and scoring in the penalty shootout against winners Bromley.
Speaking to the club upon the announcement of the deal, United boss Morison said: ”We’ve had our eye on Nana for a while and we’re delighted to give him the platform to push on in his career after a great time at Solihull last season. He’s a tricky winger who likes to get the ball into the box and we are looking forward to seeing his pace and seeing him torment opposition defences.”

Sutton United are facing an attacking rebuild this summer after losing Harry Smith and Omari Patrick amongst others upon their relegation to non-league. Boateng is an unproven asset but has shown brief glimpses whilst at Woking in the first half of last season.
He joins former Queens Park Rangers forward Dillon Da Silva up front as Sutton seeks to bounce back from heartbreak to make an immediate return to the EFL. However, Sutton will need more proven quality up top to threaten the top sides of the National League though.
