Alfie Gilchrist
Alfie is a 19-year-old right-footed defender who started his career at Chelsea and has risen through the ranks during this time at the club. Having featured for over 1700 minutes of football this year he has shown his worth in the academy. There were some rumbles off a move happening back in the summer, but they never occurred, and he has seemed to kick on in his development this year.
Having played under the new assistant at Swindon Ed Brand before helping in his development could this be a pull factor in joining the Robins? Alfie is an active defender who conducts most of his defensive duties in zone 14, the area on the outside of the box. As he plays on the right-hand side of the defense he has strong passing accuracy into the right-hand channel, with a 92% pass rate this year on 40+ meter passes. As well as this he has had spells at right-back during his time at the London club.
