Swindon Town started the season with promotion as the main goal, this was backed by the owners with the promising signing of talented youngsters to sell them on for a profit.
The main spearhead of this project was the young Scottish center-half Tom Clayton from Liverpool, who was signed on a two-year deal. As well as this fellow premier league two signings Tyrese Shade, Jacob Wakeling, Marcel Lavinier, and Reece Devine are all joining the club. On top of this town looked to recruit from other leagues such as Sadiou Khan, Luke Jephcott, and Remao Hutton adding some quality to the team.
With the incoming managerial duo of Jody Morris and Ed Brand coming into the club Swindon fans have every right to get excited in my opinion. These two will provide strong links to the club which could prove pivotal in attracting talent to the club, and could potentially forge a link with Chelsea for the future.
Using this here are five signings that I think would be important for Swindon and potentially incorporate the “Moneyball Esque” approach the chairman is going for either now or in the Summer.
