Swindon dropped into 8th into League Two after playing 25 games this season, a one nil defeat appeared to be the nail in the coffin for Swindon fans, it concluded a strange run of form Swindon seemed to be on never really achieving back-to-back wins in the league, it almost felt like one step forward two steps back. The football was branded as possession-based football by some but never seemed to create many chances, and fans branded it dull to watch.

Scott Lindsey started his coaching career at Swindon as the under-18 manager before moving to Forest Green to be the assistant manager with Mark Cooper for 172 games. He then moved to Chatham manager and was there for two years. He then moved back to Swindon with Ben Garner as the assistant manager.
Garner then left for Charlton; this left Swindon without a manager after carrying out a long search it was decided he was the best fit for the job. Swindon backed him by backing him with a squad overhaul bringing in twenty new players. However, Scott struggled to blend and find his best side, which could have caused the issues to Swindon’s struggles. Fast forward to now, he has managed Swindon for 30 games in all competitions., but only achieved 1.27 points per match in that time, and is now set to be moving on.
