1 – Matt Rhead

He was big and ungainly. Opposition fans hated him, and yet Matt Rhead is the striker most Imps fans hold in the highest regard. He played in the National League, winning the title with the club. He stuck around for two years after that, winning the Checkatrade Trophy and League Two title.

He scored 44 league goals, 23 in his first season, but Rheady was about more than goals. A master of the wind-up, Imps fans loved him, and his skillset was about much more than winning headers. He once scored an overhead kick from outside the penalty box, and a flying diving header to help beat Forest Green.
