In the absence of any real football, we’ve been using Wyscout to check out some of the players who have truly impressed in League Two this season.

The promotion chase in League Two was really heating up ahead of the enforced break, with Crewe Alexandra leading the way as we face another month without football. That’s a huge testament to the achievements and steady rebuilding job David Artell has done over a couple of years, given the big-hitters that dropped into the division last season.

There have been some big performers in this division over the course of the campaign, but which five have seen the most expected xG for goals and assists? These are players that have perhaps found themselves in good positions, but might not have capitalised on those chances.

The xG stat is one many fans don’t put much weight behind, but it is a good measure of how certain players should have performed. So, which five players have the highest combined expected goals and assists this season? We count you down from five to one.
