In the absence of any real football, we’ve been using Wyscout to check out some of the players who have truly impressed in League One this season.

It’s been a tough campaign for supporters in the third-tier, with the latest postponement of the season very much in keeping with the general feel of the whole experience. With free Saturdays courtesy of the Bury fiasco, as well as 21 teams arguably fighting to avoid one relegation spot, thing shave seemed out of kilter since the opening day.

Even having Bolton’s kids out for the first few games caused some anger, with the whole thing feeling like a farcical parody of a real season, apart from the quality of some of the football.

When teams have got out on the field and turned on the style, some very good players have thrilled and impressed us, but which five have been in the best positions in front of goal? The xG stat is one many fans don’t put much weight behind, but it is a good measure of how certain players should have performed.
